The foundation Music for Children in China has existed since January 2006, and has been set up by Martin and Karin Hartman, proud parents of two Chinese Dauchters. Jay Yu Ai from Guang Dong province and Isa Fu Fan from Hunan province. Two years after the adoption of our youngest daughter we still have the feeling we want to do more for those paerls left in China. Adopting another child was/is not the intention, our family is complete.
During a trade mission of Martin to China in January 2006 he met a Dutch-Chinese musician called Nadine The. This woman has played the violin since her 5th year and organised several benefiet concerts iin an orphanage. After talking to Nadine Martin came up with an idea; "let’s give the children music and a great time" to forget the daily things and let them enjoy an afternoon. The idea was born, a foundation:
